Man still in custody over fatal Cork stabbing

A man remains in Garda custody in connection with a fatal stabbing in Cork city last weekend.

A man remains in Garda custody in connection with a fatal stabbing in Cork city last weekend.

Twenty-seven-year-old Eddie Gallagher from Ardcullen died in hospital after being attacked at Friar's Walk in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Gardaí arrested a man on the north side of the city yesterday. He is being questioned at Bridewell Garda Station.

Last night a 27-year-old man appeared in court charged in connection with Mr Gallagher's death.

He has been remanded on bail to appear in court again on February 25.
