Man questioned over gangland-style murder
Detectives probing a gangland-style shooting five months ago were today questioning a suspect.
The 27-year-old man was arrested in Dublin city centre last night by gardaí investigating the murder of Derek Duffy.
Mr Duffy, 36, was shot in the head a number of times as he sat in the front seat of a car at Casement Park, Finglas, in the early hours of September 23.
After the shooting, the killer attempted to set fire to the inside of the victim’s Audi A4 to destroy forensic evidence.
Nearby residents attempted to save Mr Duffy by pulling him from the burning vehicle.
But the suspected drug dealer from St Attracta’s Road in Cabra died at the scene.
Gardaí said the man arrested in connection with this investigation is being held at Finglas garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
He can be detrained for 72 hours.
