The man accused of money-laundering told investigators that he considered burning the millions of pounds of sterling that he had in the basement of his home in Cork, it emerged today.

Ted Cunningham, of Woodbine Lodge, Farran, Co Cork, who denies 20 charges of money-laundering, was questioned by officers of the Criminal Assets Bureau in the Bridewell garda station in February 2005. A video of this questioning was shown to the jury at Cork Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.
