Gardaí say the body found in a remote woods in west Cork yesterday is that of missing woman Anne Corcoran.

The 60-year-old's remains were found in a shallow grave near Ballinspittle yesterday.

She went missing over two weeks ago.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on her body at Cork University Hospital last night - the results will not be released for operational reasons.

49-year-old Oliver Hayes of Clancool Terrace in Bandon was charged with her false imprisonment at Bandon District Court last night.

Inspector Brendan Fogarty has thanked all local people involved in the search.
