Area cordoned off in search for Cork woman
Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Ann Corcoran have located a body at a rural location near Ballinspittle, Co Cork.
The woodland area has been cordoned off pending the arrival of forensic examiners from the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist has been notified.
A Garda spokesman said: “We are not in a position to confirm any further details about the body at this time."
Ms Corcoran, a 60-year-old widow who lives near Kilbrittain, has been missing for two-and-a-half weeks.
A 49-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of her murder and is still being questioned by Gardaí this afternoon.
