Youths arrested in relation to cannabis seizure remanded on continuing bail

Two youths arrested over a cannabis seizure worth €40,000 in Finglas, Dublin, last month were remanded on continuing bail today, pending directions from the DPP.

The north Dublin boys, who are both aged 17, have been charged at the Children’s Court last week with possessing the drugs for sale or supply at North Road, in Finglas, on Monday, January 12.

Judge Ann Ryan remanded the pair, who were accompanied by parents, to appear again in April.

The court had been told earlier in the proceedings that it was suspected that the pair may have disposed of a firearm connected to the feud.

Both have been ordered, as terms of bail, not to have any contact with another family which the court had heard that one of the defendants’ relatives was allegedly feuding with.

The boys, who are taking part in training courses, had never been in trouble before, the court had heard earlier.

Their other bail conditions include a curfew compelling them to be in their homes, where they have been ordered to reside, from 9pm to 8am, an order to sign on three times a week at their local Garda stations, and they have also been banned from associating with each other.
