Almost 100 jobs are under threat at a Denny factory in Co Armagh.

The Kerry Group, which owns the plant, has started a formal consultation with employees at the pie-making facility in Portadown.

The company is understood to be planning to cease production by the end of April, leading to a possible loss of 94 jobs.

Meanwhile, the US sandwich chain Subway says it plans to create around 400 jobs in the North in the next two years.

The company already has 87 outlets in the North and says it plans to open 40 new franchises by the end of 2010.
