McKenna mulling Greens departure?

Former Green Party MEP Patricia McKenna has admitted that she is still undecided about whether she should quit the party.

Ms McKenna has been a prominent critic of the party leadership's decision to enter a coalition government with Fianna Fáil.

Earlier today, party leader John Gormley criticised her for saying the Greens were in "freefall" following the resignation of several high-profile councillors.

She has admitted that her remarks were harsh, but says they were a result of her utter frustration with the way the leadership is taking the party she helped to create in the first place.

She says the Greens have been "stolen away in another direction" and she is unsure whether she should walk out or try "to reclaim what was there".
