Gormley hits out at McKenna over 'freefall' remark
Green Party leader John Gormley has hit out at Patricia McKenna over her recent remark that the party is in freefall.
Ms McKenna made the comment following a series of recent high-profile resignations in protest at the party's performance in government.
The former Green MEP remains a member of the party herself, despite her strong opposition to the decision to enter a coalition with Fianna Fáil.
Speaking in Dublin this morning, Mr Gormley said many Greens were angered by her remarks and felt they were a deliberate attempt to damage the party.
