Two arrested over Garda car ramming and firearms offences
Two men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with the ramming of a Garda patrol car and firearms offences.
The incident happened outside a house in the Clonshaugh area of the city last night.
Gardaí were called to the house after reports that two men were sitting in a car outside it.
When they arrived, their patrol car was rammed by the Audi A5. Gardaí managed to block the car and smash the driver and passenger windows, when they then saw a gun inside the car.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene - a 22-year-old man escaped and was subsequently arrested after he broke into an occupied house.
Both men are being held at Coolock Garda Station.
The scene has been sealed off at Clonshaugh and a forensic examination will be carried out.
