Elderly woman dies in bus accident

An elderly female pedestrian has died in a bus accident in Cork city this morning.

The 72-year-old woman was knocked down near the junction between High Street and Southern Road just before 9am.

The accident involved a Bus Éireann vehicle and also a second vehicle.

The Gardaí and Bus Éireann are both investigating the incident.
