Relatives of Stardust victims protest at Govt Buildings

Representatives of the Stardust Victims Committee were refusing to abandon their protest at Government Buildings this evening, as they insisted on being given a copy of a new report into the tragedy.

The group believes there is new evidence contained in the report, and are angry at not being allowed access to the information.

Last year, an investigation was set up to examine whether a public inquiry should take place.

That report has already been handed over to the Government, not to the families.

Forty-eight young people died in the fire at the Stardust nightclub in Artane in Dublin in February 1981.
