Bus driver injured in Dublin

Gardaí are investigating an incident on a Dublin bus last night, in which a driver was seriously injured.

It happened on the 56A bus route, from Tallaght to Eden Quay in the city centre at around 9.30pm last night.

It is understood a passengers took control of the vehicle and drove it down Cork Street, before being overpowered by another passenger who intervened, while the bus driver called the Gardaí.

He was later arrested by Gardaí and is being questioned at Kevin Street Garda Station.
