IDA officials are due to meet Dell management today to discuss the company's plan to shed 1,900 jobs at its Raheen plant in Limerick.

The US computer giant plans to move the manufacturing operation to Poland as part of a €3bn global cost-cutting package.

Today's meeting will focus on the company's future strategy in Ireland.

The Raheen factory has benefited from around €50m in government funding over the past 20 years and the IDA is vowing to pursue Dell for any refunds it may owe as a result of the decision to cut jobs.

The IDA says it will investigate whether the company has complied with the grant arrangements, but Dell has insisted that it has met all the necessary requirements.

Meanwhile, EU officials are also planning to investigate an aid package the Polish Government used to attract Dell away from Ireland.
