There are renewed calls on the Bishop of Cloyne, Dr John Magee, to resign over his failure to adequately deal with child abuse cases in the diocese.

The call has come from the Children's Rights Alliance ahead of the release of the HSE report on the child protection services in Cloyne.

Before Christmas, a damning report compiled by the Catholic Church's National Board found that children in the Diocese, were at risk of harm because of a failure to respond appropriately.

The bishop apologised to victims and said that the findings of the review are currently being implemented but refused to quit.

Speaking to Cork's RedFM, Jillian van Turnhout of the Children's Rights Alliance has called for the full publication of the report and says the Bishop's position is untenable.
