Justice system to be more sympathetic to victims

The criminal justice system must be more sympathetic to the trauma felt by victims of crime and their families, Justice Minister Dermot Ahern claimed today.

However the TD insisted his groundbreaking Criminal Procedure Bill will not erode the right to a fair trial or the presumption of innocence for suspects.
