Probe launched after Louth body find

Gardaí in Co. Louth are investigating the discovery of a man's body in Dundalk.

Gardaí in Co. Louth are investigating the discovery of a man's body in Dundalk.

The discovery was made on a lane off Avenue Road in the town just before midnight last night when the emergency services were called by a member of the public.

Gardaí have said the body is that of a 24-year-old man from Dundalk.

The body remains at the scene pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and crime scene examiners from the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardaí said there were signs of injury on the body but a post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
