Man charged over road crash in Down

Police in the North have charged a man in connection with a road crash on the main Belfast to Dublin road on St Stephen's Day.

A 58-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car on the A1 outside Dromore in Co. Down.

The man has been charged with a number of motoring offences and will appear before Newry Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A second man arrested in connection with the incident on Friday has been released without charge.
