Just one hospital achieves highest hygiene standard

Only one Irish hospital has achieved the highest rating in the latest hygiene report by the Health Information and Quality Authority.

Cappa Orthapedics Hospital in Dublin is the only facility nationwide to have achieve the highest standard of cleanliness.

Last year, no Irish hospital met this standard.

Elsewhere, six hospitals have received formal letters of warning from HIQA - Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda, St Luke's in Rathgar, Letterkenny General Hospital, Collumcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown, the Mid Western Hospital in Ennis and St Mary's Orthapedic in Cork.
