Public urged to remember carers at Christmas
As people settle in to the Christmas holidays, the Carers' Association is urging the public to spare a thought for its members.
It says most carers will not be able to take any break during the holidays as they continue to care for sick or infirm family members.
Association CEO Enda Egan said Christmas can be the most stressful time of the year for carers and that other relatives should bear this in mind.
