EC to co-fund compensation for pig producers

The European Commission is to co-fund a compensation scheme for farmers and producers affected by the recent contamination scare in the pork industry.

The scheme will provide compensation for animals and slaughterhouse stocks that had to be withdrawn from the food chain due to fears of dioxin contamination.
