Three arrested after explosives find in Meath

Gardaí have arrested three men following the discovery of explosives and detonators during a search of a car in Co Meath last night.

The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Kells shortly before midnight.

Three men aged 18, 24 and 32 were arrested and are being held at Navan and Kells garda stations.

All three are understood to be from the north-east of the country.
