PSNI chief on shortlist for top job in London
PSNI chief constable Hugh Orde has been short-listed for the most senior job in the British police forces.
Mr Orde is one of four candidates on the short-list to replace Ian Blair as head of the London Metropolitan Police.
Nine senior officers had applied for the job.
Mr Orde began his policing career with the Met in 1977 and rose to the rank of deputy assistant commissioner.
He was made chief constable in the North seven years ago and has earned genuine respect from both sides of the community divide.
