An intoxicated Tallaght teenager whose "unprovoked attack on an innocent member of the public" left the victim unconscious and needing stitches has been given 12 months' detention.

Jason Byrne (aged 19) was with a group of youths in The Square in Tallaght when he threw a bottle at Robert Zygadlo which knocked him unconscious and caused his removal by ambulance to Accident and Emergency at the nearby hospital.
