Ireland's energy related CO2 emissions are falling.

Ireland's energy related CO2 emissions are falling.

Figures from Sustainable Energy Ireland show a decrease of 1.4% in the amount of CO2 the country produced between 2005 and 2007.

SEI also said that that the amount of lower emitting vehicles people are buying has doubled since the Government introduced its new emission linked VRT scheme in the summer.

Head of Industry with SEI, Brian Motherway said that he expects the recession to cause emissions to fall further.
