A man was arrested today by detectives hunting the killer of a pensioner in Armagh in October.

A man was arrested today by detectives hunting the killer of a pensioner in Armagh in October.

Eileen Corrigan was found dead in her home in Boyds Row, near Loughgall Road, in the city by a friend.

The friend discovered the body of the 62-year-old on a Monday afternoon and police believe she may have lain undetected for up to four days.

Mrs Corrigan, who was well-known in the area and described as “quiet and inoffensive” had last been seen on the previous Thursday.

Police said the suspect was arrested in the Armagh area by the PSNI Crime Operations Major Investigations Team.
