Public urged to avoid unnecessary trips to A&E departments

The Health Service Executive is appealing to people to avoid hospital emergency departments unless they require urgent medical care.

As part of its winter initiative, it is stressing the need to access HSE services through the right route, to free up space in A+E departments for emergency cases.
