Gormley welcomes climate package
The Environment Minister John Gormley is welcoming the climate package, agreed at the EU summit in Brussels.
Under the deal, 27 countries will be taking on new legally binding targets to cut their greenhouse gas emissions.
The deal aims to reduce emissions by 20%, compared to their level in 1990.
Minister Gormley said the package is an enormous challenge for Ireland and is the first step towards agreeing on global a climate deal.
