2,000 litres of dangerous acid stolen in the North

Police in the North are investigating the theft of a large quantity of dangerous acid in Co Armagh earlier this week.

A trailer containing 2,000 litres of hypochlorite acid was stolen along with a tractor in Jerretspass on Tuesday night.

The PSNI says if the substance, which is light-green in colour and is used as an anti-bacterial treatment for water, will pose a major environmental risk if dumped.

Police also said the acid can burn skin and eyes and anyone who sees the stolen trailer should not touch it.
