Two arrested in CAB operation

Two men were arrested last night after gardaí from the Criminal Assets Bureau swooped on nine properties in three counties.

The officers were targeting the activities of a gang of criminals based in north Dublin.

Five houses and four businesses were searched in counties Cavan, Meath and Dublin.

Two men were arrested under section 31 of the Criminal Justice Act (money laundering the proceeds of drug trafficking) and were being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

They are being questioned at Kevin Street and Crumlin garda stations.
