Aviance to announce response to SIPTU rescue plan
The success of a union rescue plan aimed at saving almost 160 jobs at Dublin Airport is expected to be known later today.
Aviance, which provides ground handling services at the airport, is due to give its response to a SIPTU business plan aimed at cutting labour costs to save the jobs.
The company was initially planning to close its operations and shed almost 160 jobs by March due to economic pressures.
SIPTU has responded by putting forward a 27-month strategy to dramatically cut labour costs, which Aviance management has agreed to consider.
