Equality groups to outline opposition to budget cuts

A coalition of groups working in the area of equality and human rights is due to outline its opposition to planned government cutbacks in the sector today.

The Government plans to cut funding to the Equality Authority and the Human Rights Commission in order to save money in next year's budget.

The Equality and Rights Alliance will outline its opposition to the move during an appearance before an Oireachtas committee at Leinster House today.
