Hundreds attend vigil for murdered rugby player
Hundreds of people have attended a special vigil in Limerick for murdered rugby player Shane Geoghegan.
The service was held at St Joseph's Church last night, with the Mayor of Limerick joining around 700 friends and well-wishers in offering continued support to the Geoghegan family.
The 28-year-old Garryowen player was shot dead near his home last month after apparently being mistaken for a drug-dealer who lives in the area.
The killing sparked a public outcry and a series of raids targeting gangland criminals in Limerick and their associates in Dublin and Cork.
However, nobody has yet been charged in connection with the murder.
