Man arrested over gun attack in north Dublin

A man was arrested today over a suspected gangland gun attack outside a bookmakers’ shop.

The 24-year-old was detained in Ballymun, north Dublin by detectives investigating the shooting of a man in nearby Finglas, last month.

The suspect is being questioned under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Finglas Garda Station.

The 41-year-old victim, who survived the attack and is recovering in hospital, came under fire as he sat in a car outside the bookies in Cardiffsbridge Road shortly before midday on November 15.

Two men, both aged 20, were arrested by detectives and quizzed at separate garda stations later that day.

One was released, while a file was prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The other man remained in custody over an outstanding arrest warrant relating to a separate matter.

It is believed the shooting is linked to a drugs feud in Finglas.
