Lenihan in plea over lending to small firms

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan today urged more action from banks after a leading lender unveiled a special fund for small firms gripped by the credit crisis.

Bank of Ireland said its €250m scheme would help out businesses who are cash-strapped or looking to expand during the current economic turmoil.
