Barrier-free tolling on the M50 has cut the average journey time by more than five minutes, according to research published today.

Barrier-free tolling on the M50 has cut the average journey time by more than five minutes, according to research published today.

The research by Mapflow says the average southbound trip on the motorway is almost six minutes shorter following the removal of toll barriers earlier this year.

The average northbound journey has improved by five minutes.

Despite this, Mapflow says the M50 northbound is still prone to significant traffic congestion at peak times.
