Harney defends FÁS expenses

The Minister for Health Mary Harney is insisting she was on Government business when she attended a function hosted by FÁS in Florida four years ago.

Ms Harney was commenting in her first full interview following the resignation of Rody Molloy who oversaw the spending of public money at the State training authority.

The former Enterprise Minister was one of several people who attended a nail bar salon where a bill of $410 was paid for grooming services.

She insisted today there was nothing unethical about her trip to Florida.
