239 jobs lost in Galway, Kilkenny and Limerick

There's bad news on the jobs front in Galway, Kilkenny and Limerick today.

In Galway 110 jobs are to be lost at Thermo King, a transport refrigeration plant in Mervue because of downsizing measures.

In Kilkenny a ball bearing manufacturer, NN Euroball, has announced it's to close with the loss of 70 jobs because of the global downturn in the automotive industry.

In Limerick 59 jobs are to be lost at Filtertek BV, a manufacturing company based in Newcastle West.

The company said that recent economic factors have affected its ability to provide cost competitive products to some of its customers.
