Nurses suspend work-to-rule at Portiuncula Hospital
The Irish Nurses Organisation has suspended a work-to-rule protest at Portiuncula Hospital in Co Galway after reaching an agreement with the National Hospitals Office and the HSE.
The INO has been embroiled in a 10-week dispute with management at the hospital over the suspension of two senior nurse managers.
Nurses began a work-to-rule yesterday in which they refused to answer phones or conduct certain IT duties.
The action has now been suspended - as has a lunchtime protest planned for today - following talks between the two sides yesterday.
An independent investigation will be carried out as part of a deal reached at the discussions.
