Taxi driver survives crossbow attack

A crossbow bolt has been fired at a taxi in north Belfast, it was revealed today.

A crossbow bolt has been fired at a taxi in north Belfast, it was revealed today.

The driver escaped injury in the attack, which happened at Carlisle Circus.

The bolt shattered a side rear window of the vehicle and police appealed for information following last night’s incident.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, a 25-year-old German woman was taken to hospital with a broken jaw after a stone was hurled through a taxi windscreen.

The attack took place in Belfast’s Glenmachan Street at around 11pm last night.

The brick shattered the windscreen, striking the woman, while the driver and two other women who are both aged 22 escaped injury.

Police said three to four male youths wearing hooded tops were seen in the area of Broadway and Glenmachan Street.
