Second man held in connection with doorman's murder

Police in the North investigating the murder of a doorman who was shot dead, arrested a second man for questioning today.

Brian McGlynn, 28, was in bed in his home in the Fountain Hill area of Derry in June last year when two masked men shot him dead. His 24-year-old girlfriend was in the room.

Police arrested a 46-year-old man in Derry this morning for questioning about the murder. He is also being questioned about membership of the INLA.

Detectives investigating the case also appealed for a person who contacted officers at Strand Road station about the murder to contact them again.

A 30-year-old man arrested yesterday over the killing remains in custody.

The second man is also being questioned in connection with INLA membership and possession of a firearm with intent.

Mr McGlynn was originally from Strabane and worked as a doorman at a nightclub and a pub in Derry.
