New legislation would allow gardaí to bug suspected criminals

The Government has released the details of new legislation which will allow An Garda Síochána to carry out covert surveillance on crime figures.

The cabinet voted this afternoon in favour of the new laws, upon the recommendation of the Justice Minister.
