Mother appeals for help catching Shane’s killers
The mother of slain rugby player Shane Geoghegan has made a public appeal for help in catching her son's killers.
The 28-year-old was gunned down near his home in Limerick last weekend after apparently being mistaken for a top drug dealer who lives in the area.
The killing, which is being blamed on one of the city's feuding crime gangs, has caused outrage across the country.
In her first interview since her son's death, Mary Geoghegan says she initially didn't believe the Gardai when they told her Shane had been killed.
She is due to appear on RTE's Crimecall tonight along with Shane's girlfriend Jenna to launch an appeal for information.
The programme will also feature a reconstruction of the killing.
