Woman who had heroin and amphetamines for sale to be sentenced later

A woman who had drugs for sale or supply in her west Dublin home will be sentenced later.

Gwen Mills (aged 33) of Kilcronan Grove, Clondalkin pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court before a jury was scheduled to be sworn in for her trial to having heroin and amphetamines on October 14, 2006.

Judge Patricia Ryan remanded Mills on continuing bail for sentence in February.

The drugs cache was recovered after gardaí, acting on confidential information that a huge consignment of heroin was going to be moved on October 14, 2006, tailed a car in which Mills was a passenger.

The male driver was found to have heroin valued an estimated €2.27m after gardaí stopped his car at Cherrrywood Park, Clondalkin. Mills’ home was then searched leading to a further recovery of drugs.
