ICTU delegates set to ratify new national pay deal
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) is set to ratify the new national pay deal today at a special delegate conference in Dublin.
The majority of Irish unions have already voted to accept the deal, including SIPTU, whose 250,000 members give it huge sway within the ICTU.
That means today's vote on the pay deal is effectively a formality.
The agreement includes pay rises totalling 6% for all workers over the course of 21 months.
There is also an extra 0.5% for low-paid workers.
