Retail sales suffer largest decline in 25 years

The volume of retail sales in Ireland has fallen in recent months by the largest amount in 25 years, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The agency says retail sales were down 5.6% during the third quarter of this year, the largest decline since the second quarter of 1983.
