Body discovered in grounds of Ballina hotel

The body of a man in his 70s has been found in Co Mayo, it emerged this evening.

It was discovered in a chalet on the grounds of a hotel in Ballina at about 11am this morning.

The body was taken to Castlebar General Hospital, where a post mortem is to be carried out tomorrow.

Gardaí have launched an investigation.
