Irish jobs safe in BT cost-cutting programme

BT says Ireland will not be affected by its plans to cut 10,000 jobs in the UK as part of a cost-cutting programme.

The telecoms firm says its Irish operation has experienced a 13.5% jump in profits during the six months to September of this year.
