Three still held over massive cocaine seizure
Gardaí in Cork are continuing to question three men in connection with yesterday's massive cocaine seizure.
The drugs were recovered from a yacht that was taken into custody around 200 miles off the southwest coast yesterday.
The drugs will be analysed today but it is believed the haul could be the largest in the history of the State.
The seizure has an estimated street value of at least €.5bn - surpassing last year's haul of cocaine at Dunlough Bay in west Cork.
The 60-foot yacht, which is being brought to shore in Cork under armed guard, is due to arrive this morning.
The seizure was made as a result of a Joint Task Force operation that has been ongoing for a number of weeks.
The detained trio are being questioned at Bantry and Bandon garda stations under drug trafficking legislation.
