Certain medication can impair judgement and cause drowsiness, the regulator said.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and the Road Safety Authority have launched a joint campaign on the problem.

President of the PSI, Dr Bernard Leddy, has urged people who are taking prescription or non-prescription medication to always check with their pharmacist before driving.
